CNC Milling of an Aluminum Pan Adjust PLT for the Visual Image Mapping Industry

At Brant Custom Machining, Ltd., we pride ourselves in manufacturing advanced and complicated products for specialized customers, including the Visual Image Mapping industry. We were recently recruited for the precision fabrication of an aluminum "Pan Adjust PLT" part for a customer. Like many image mapping devices, this part had to be manufactured to tight tolerances in order to provide proper operation. Footprint dimensions for the 0.500" thick part were 5.000" width by 5.125" length.
We elected to use CNC Milling and Turning operations to cut and shape the part from 6061-T6 aluminum, with all work occurring on a centralized milling center. Deburring, part marking, and anodization to Mil-A-8625 Type II followed the fabrication process. Peak tolerances were successfully held at +0.001 / -0.000". 10 examples were made over the course of the project.
