At Brant Custom Machining, Ltd., we help our customers by providing cutting edge machining services that are precise, cost-effective, and convenient. Regularly working with high grade and highly challenging materials, we have specialized in the manufacturing of advanced parts and products that require state-of-the-art manufacturing with close attention to detail.

Recently, we were contracted by a Visual Image Mapping customer to fabricate an aluminum base. An important part of the imaging process, this pan adjust base unit would need to be exceptionally accurate. Therefore, high quality material and a precision cutting method would be needed for manufacturing.

We elected to use a combination of CNC turning and milling steps to fabricate the aluminum base, with the milling segment featuring counter boring, drilling, tapping, and chamfering steps. Deburring, part marking, and anodizing steps followed. The design of the base featured a 6.000″ diameter and a height of 0.438″, and was cut with peak tolerances of ±0.002″. 6061-T6 Aluminum was used as the build material, and anodized to Mil-A-8625 Type III specifications.

Through our capabilities in precision custom manufacturing, we were able to deliver a complete product solution built to follow direct customer specifications. Over the course of our work for this customer, 10 examples of this aluminum base were machined, finished, tested, and shipped on a two-week turnaround.
